The gift was from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Indonesia .
A Beijing company has designed an elevated bus that can glide over traffic. It's called the Transit Explore Bus or TEB and plans were showcased this month at a technology expo in Beijing. It's supported by two legs that run along rails laid on the roadside which allow the bus to glide at speeds of up to 60km per hour. Vehicles that are less than 2 metres high will be able to drive freely underneath the bus, even when it's stationary.
The annual Vivid Festival has now started in Sydney. Vivid Sydney 2016 is a festival of lights, ideas and music. The festival will last until June 18, with the lights shining from 6pm until 11pm each night. The iconic Sydney Opera House is one of many buildings lit in vivid colours.
Blackbird Ventures held a startup conference for founders with a very detailed garage theme at CarriageWorks in Sydney. Since many startups start in garages this was a clever theme. The conference, called The Sunrise, featured very successful founders telling their stories. Leaders presenting included Mike-Cannon-Brookes (Atlassian), Melanie Perkins (Canva), Andre Eikmeier (Vinomofo), Craig Barratt (Google Fiber), Chris Boshuizen (Planet Labs) and Julie Stevanja (Stylerunner).
