Boosting Sovereign Capabilities
Australia has a shortage of sovereign capability in engineering for land-based military vehicles with respect to powertrain development.Items will be developed and manufactured in Australia and complement the Cummins engine imported from Cummins USA. By delivering this engineering program, Premcar will develop sovereign engineering and manufacturing capabilities to support land based military vehicle development and production in Australia. Plant Based Meats - Harvest B
The plant-based meat category is expected to 10x over the next decade with explosive growth.  However, the proteins used as key ingredients in this category today are currently all imported to Australia. The global supply is constrained with increasing lead times, cost and lack of innovation for this rapidly changing category.  This poses a risk for the continued growth of Australian food brands and manufacturers in plant-based meats. To address this growing category opportunity, a local supply chain needs to be developed in Australia that integrates both the R&D and manufacturing capability required to produce novel ingredients domestically.See https://www.amgc.org.au/project/manufacture-and-commercialisation-of-plant-based-protein-ingred

The Big Catch
Unlike other sports or recreational activities, it is currently impossible for anglers to simultaneously record themselves and their game (the fish) with self-footage of their sporting experience. See what you've been missing with Siren, the first ever dual facing camera specifically designed for the fishing community. https://www.amgc.org.au/project/manufacture-of-dual-lens-fishing-camera/

Helimods Takes Off
A  new system will enable HeliMods to connect to physical manufacturing infrastructure anywhere in the world without the requirement for person-centric links. It also provides complete product traceability, oversight and data trust for high-security industries such as defence. Ag waste-based replacement for coke in steelmaking
Startup Biocarbon is commercialising a process to make biochar suitable for coke replacement in steelmaking.Biochar is made from pyrolysis, usually in a kiln where biomass is heated at up to 700 degrees C with little or no oxygen. The charcoal is useful in soil conditioning and could help draw down and store CO2 in the ground.Biocarbon has developed a way to make char dense and pure enough to replace coke in electric arc steelmaking, and is engaged with Molycop in R&D on this new, environmentally gentler method, which they say is a world first.
