Jet Powered Drones
The Hydra 400 is a pioneering new generation of heavy lift drone using hybrid propulsion technology. Compact and portable, the drone can be transported in the back of a Hilux or similar and assembled ready for flight in six minutes. The drone is powered by single spool jet turbines, producing 500N (50kg) thrust providing a maximum lift of 400kg. Beef Up The Sensors
Simple on-animal sensors could be a game changer for Australian beef cattle nutrition, according to University of Queensland research. Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation master’s student Tamara Freitas-Kirk is using wireless technology and motion detection cameras to monitor individual food intake of a trial herd.“Current methods are only able to estimate feed intake of a herd, assuming all animals are consuming a predetermined amount,” See https://www.uq.edu.au/news/article/2023/11/beefing-cattle-supplements

Space Cows System
Dubbed SpaceCows, the large-scale remote herd management system is supported by the Australian government's Smart Farming Partnership initiative and combines AI and satellite use.Local rangers and stockmen chase and catch the speedy animals to attach solar-powered GPS tags. The tag data is directly transmitted to a space-based satellite system at an altitude of 650 km for up to two years or until the tags fail. The aim of the project is to better inform rangers' decisions around managing feral animals.See https://amp.abc.net.au/article/103103624

CO2 Concrete
With the same strength and durability as new concrete, but 10% cheaper, this CO2 injected recycled aggregate offers significant emissions savings. Currently on trial in different smaller scale applications from commuter carparks and footpaths to cattle drinking troughs, it's an exciting development which could also help reduce the amount of concrete waste going to landfill - providing a circular concrete solution.https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-29/recycled-concrete-carbon-dioxide-emissions-waste-building/103159644
