Community collaboration to produce a Graveyard Tour
Three community groups on Long Island NY collaborated to produce a Graveyard Tour this month. "Widows" in Victorian dress guided us to tombstones of historically prominent local people where actors in costume portrayed them. The last actor, dressed as a Victorian era undertaker, told us about customs for burials at that time including the practice of photographing dead people. The three community groups are the Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society, Mattituck Presbyterian Church and North Fork Community Theatre.

Connecting People with Photography
In 2018 JR his team spent a month roaming New York City, parking their trailer truck and taking photos of passersby who wished to participate. Each was photographed in front of a green screen then the images were collaged into a NYC setting featuring architectural landmarks. More than 1,000 people were photographed for a mural, The Chronicles of New York City. Participants chose how they wanted to be represented and were asked to share their stories, which are now on a free app. Mexican painter Diego Rivera was the inspiration. Now showing at the Brooklyn Museum.

Bottletop Designer Bags
Spotted in K11 Hong Kong. Sustainability is at the core of everything brand BOTTLETOP does on the product journey; from the raw materials, to the moment it reaches a customer’s hands. All of their bags incorporate upcycled metal ring pulls in their design. These are sourced and cleaned in Brazil to create their signature chain mail fabric. The company trains local artisans with new skills and crafts to manufacture the items and use plastic-free packaging. To reduce pollution, they do not use any plastic when the goods are shipped to customers- instead, they arrive in recycled cardboard packaging. https://bottletop.org/
