The pen is thoughtful and useful as it has 2 spotlight choices at the top- a red laser pointer as well as a white light which would be helpful in reading small print in the dark, such as on menus. The gift was from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Indonesia .
The annual Vivid Festival has now started in Sydney. Vivid Sydney 2016 is a festival of lights, ideas and music. The festival will last until June 18, with the lights shining from 6pm until 11pm each night. The iconic Sydney Opera House is one of many buildings lit in vivid colours.
Blackbird Ventures held a startup conference for founders with a very detailed garage theme at CarriageWorks in Sydney. Since many startups start in garages this was a clever theme. The conference, called The Sunrise, featured very successful founders telling their stories. Leaders presenting included Mike-Cannon-Brookes (Atlassian), Melanie Perkins (Canva), Andre Eikmeier (Vinomofo), Craig Barratt (Google Fiber), Chris Boshuizen (Planet Labs) and Julie Stevanja (Stylerunner).
