A city street of flowers
What  a great idea to have one street (28th St. between 7th and 8th Avenues) devoted to flower sellers.  To walk down the sidewalk is like a trip to a fantasy land - and the fragrances are even better.

Wider sidewalks
Always crowded Manhattan midtown, now some streets have the sidewalks widened by installing barriers into the automobile traffic lanes.  This is part of Manhattan's gradual conversion to a pedestrian preferred geography.
