Freedom Tower is the building erected on the site of the Twin Towers destroyed on 9/11/01.  Every year there is light shone to memorialize the day.

For the recent US Independence Day celebration the town of Greenport, NY, erected a flag with the name and date of death for local soldiers on the flag pole.

One Vanderbilt is a new high rise in Manhattan with a fabulous view from the top.

In visiting the world war monument in Sydney’s Hyde Park, I was impressed by the direction to visitors for silence.  Seemed to work.
