More sustainable packaging
Biora plans to revolutionise packaging of FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) companies. They are using?a breakthrough natural polymer coating, designed to replace potentially harmful chemical-based coatings, like BPA (Biosphenol A). The team is currently developing BPA-free cans for use in the food and beverage industry. Biora has been supported by the ON Accelerate program at CSIRO. http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate1/Biora

Reducing the risk in dangerous work environments
Wireless Ad hoc System for Positioning (WASP) has the potential to reduce dangers in dangerous work environments such as oil and gas, drilling and processing. WASP provides high risk work environments with the ability to track movement of people or vehicles, predict collisions, pinpoint dangers like gas leaks and direct people in emergencies. It also allows people to verify what happens in an incident. WASP has been supported by the ON Accelerate program at CSIRO. http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate1/WASP

A more effective way of producing vaccines
Over half a million people die every year because of seasonal influenza. The solution is vaccination. Vaximiser is a premium high-yield egg that increases vaccine growth tenfold. It helps improve production of vaccines, which means individuals have access to more vaccines in less time. Vaximiser will enhance the capacity to respond to disease outbreaks and help to protect the world from the next pandemic. http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate1/Vaximiser

Leaf Oil from any plant used as a renewable resource
Consumers are increasingly demanding our fuels and industrial materials are produced from more sustainable and renewable resources. Plant oils are the most technically suitable, low-cost alternative, but current production systems struggle to keep pace with the projected 50% increase in demand needed just for food use. Folear enables the production of oil in leaves of potentially any plant, rather than just the seeds and fruits of our currently limited array of oil crops. This renewable oil production is needed to meet both this food security challenge and the renewable fuel opportunity. Folear (previously called LeafOil) has been supported by the ON Accelerate program at CSIRO. http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate3/LeafOil

Technology that can safely inspect assets
Every year, Australia loses billions of dollars due to infrastructure failures, spends billions of dollars on inspecting its aging assets and loses some of its bravest men and women who take the risk to do this dangerous job. Hovermap is an intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with advanced collision avoidance, non-GPS flight and accurate 3D mapping capabilities ? all tailored to suit industrial inspection requirements. It is an inspection tool of the future that can be used to safely and efficiently inspect hard-to-reach assets and collect extremely high fidelity data in previously unreachable places. Hovermap has been supported by the ON Accelerate program at CSIRO.?http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate2/Hovermap

Pain assessment through facial recognition technology
Imagine you are in excruciating pain, but you can't tell anyone. This is the reality for millions of non-communicative people world-wide, such as those with moderate to severe dementia. PainChek's point of care apps utilise facial recognition technology to detect facial micro-expressions which are indicative of pain, to provide these people with a voice. PainChek, previously called EPat, has been supported by the ON Accelerate program at CSIRO. http://www.oninnovation.com.au/en/ON-teams/ON-Tribe/Accelerate2/ePAT
