What is more artistic than Nature?
Take a walk through a beautiful garden and be amazed by the natural beauty? I recently had the pleasure of doing just that, while on a walk with two mentees for MentorWalks Australia in the Sydney Botanic Gardens. The garden was truly awe-inspiring, with the rain, sunshine and clever garden care coming together to create a picturesque landscape. It was a great reminder of the beauty of nature and the wonders that it can create. www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au

Liam Fleming- Glassblower
“Liam Fleming has developed a singular glass practice alongside years of experience as a production glassblower and assistant to other makers. His distinctive vocabulary of forms and techniques test the constraints of glassblowing while exploring the complicated relationship between craft, art, design and architecture. These concerns are evident in his beguiling objects that capture a moment of transformation through the “controlled demolition” of mould-blown forms. They are captivating in demonstrating expert technique, uncertainty, and imperfection. Fleming’s new body of work results from further experiments with coldworking techniques, giving over to chance in the workshop and a philosophical exploration” https://indaily.com.au/inreview/visual-art/2022/11/04

The Embrace
A 19-ton bronze depicting Martin Luther King, Coretta Scott King and a love that helped change the world, has inspired praise, jokes and bile. The city of Boston unveiled a new memorial sculpture in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. The reception for the 22-foot statue has been decidedly mixed — ranging from enthusiastic plaudits to consternation and outright jeers. The monument, by artist Hank Willis Thomas, is meant to honor the relationship between the Kings. It was inspired by a 1964 photograph of the couple hugging, after King had won the Nobel Peace Prize.
