A Mother that sits like the Sphinx- Munch Museum
Tracey Emin's monumental sculpture The Mother is on view outside the Munch Museum, the site of her recent major exhibition ‘Tracey Emin / Edvard Munch – The Loneliness of the Soul’. The 18.2 tonne, nine-metre tall work emphasises the female figure as vulnerable, a protector and sexualised being; a monument to femininity and motherhood that is visible from afar over land and water. ‘The Mother sits like a Sphinx, waiting for the tide. Looking out to sea – protecting the home of Munch. She is welcoming all of nature. She is the companion of the Ghost of Munch’. www.munchmuseet.no

Kite Pride
KitePride Is an Israeli fashion social enterprise based in Telavi owned by Israeli NGO Hope Center and German NGO GlowbalAct.  They create one-of-a-kind BAGS from up-cycled kitesurfing kite, sail, parachute and wetsuits to provide jobs for survivors of human trafficking and prostitution. Through each bag sold, continuous jobs are created, and fabric is saved from landfill. Every bag is designed, and sewn, by someone who has exited human trafficking and prostitution.  Each unique upcycled bag is sewn in a safe environment by these survivors. The business dream was to end human trafficking and forced prostitution.   http://kitepride.com

Issey Miyake- Tech Influence over Generations
Issey Miyake was one of the first designers to collaborate with artists. He believed in “comfort dressing” long before the term existed. It was his understanding and appreciation of technology and how it could be harnessed that set Miyake apart. He was the original champion of fashion tech. His garments were conceived not just as beautiful things but as solutions to everyday needs. 1988 Miyake’s research into the heat press, lead him to create fabrications shaped it into knife-edge pleats, which in turn became garments that never wrinkled, fell flat or required any complicated fastenings known as Pleats Please www.isseymiyake.com
