This show is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Spain, he was half-jokingly and half-seriously invited to produce “the piece of his life”. Halilaj ( who come from Kosovo) seems to have taken the proposal almost literally, making artistic material out of his biographical experience. He has turned the Palacio de Cristal into a giant nest that connects the interior with the exterior, linking visitors to their surroundings by opening windows, installing structures, and setting up feeding areas to attract the birds and other creatures inhabiting or transiting through Parque del Retiro.

'Moments in Time' an exhibition by artist Lisa Cotton at Sydney Road Gallery Work Inc, Bay 6, Middlemiss St, Lavender Bay.
“Looking out into the enormity of a body of water or land engulfs me in so many emotions. This connection makes me feel small and yet it fills me with wonder. Moments in Time captures my responses: the stillness and translucency of the ocean; a cool soft mist from an escarpment; and the imminent quiet before a storm threatens the horizon” Lisa Cotton. This is a joint initiative with ArtSmart Framing, curated by Sarah Montgomery.

The Alsama Studio is a social enterprise run in the Bourj al-Barajneh refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. The director of the studio is herself a refugee, and a recent partnership with Larissa von Planta, who was trained at Central Saint Martins, has resulted in the LVP x Alsama Project. Fashion lovers send much-loved items of clothing to the studio for upcycling, with hand stitched embroidery patterns. Each upcycled piece is unique, and customers can collaborate on their designs. Embroidery colours can be chosen by the clients or left up to the artisans. https://alsamaproject.com/shop/
