The Forgotten Ballroom Exhibition
Australian Artist Patricia Piccinini’s exhibition in the Flinders Street Station’s forgotten Ballroom is the first there in decade. Piccinini works in a variety of media, including painting, video, sound, installation, digital prints, and sculpture. She is an artist who explores the frontiers of science and technology through her extradinary works. She explores "unexpected consequences", conveying concerns surrounding bio-ethics to help visualize future dystopias. She challenges our relationship to nature valorising things like trees, animals and small acts of kindness we may usually overlook. An amazing exhibition to see once Melbourne is out of lockdown. https://www.patriciapiccinini.net

An Artistic Experiment in New Zealand
Paul Bradley transformed Rostrevor Street into a public space open to people and closed to cars. Sections of Rostrevor and Ward streets in central Hamilton, New Zealand was closed or partially closed to vehicles as part of Waka Kotahi’s Innovating Streets Project. Hamilton City Council received $902,000 from an agency to determine if the area was safer and more appealing to people after the Innovating Streets project. Council removed car parks, closed the road, and created a people-friendly zone where kids could skateboard or scooter and others can hang out in the park.

Petrit Halilaj’s Nest of Giant Flowers
This show is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Spain, he was half-jokingly and half-seriously invited to produce “the piece of his life”. Halilaj ( who come from Kosovo) seems to have taken the proposal almost literally, making artistic material out of his biographical experience. He has turned the Palacio de Cristal into a giant nest that connects the interior with the exterior, linking visitors to their surroundings by opening windows, installing structures, and setting up feeding areas to attract the birds and other creatures inhabiting or transiting through Parque del Retiro. https://www.museoreinasofia.es/en/exhibitions/petrit-halilaj
