Current clinical diagnostic accuracy for early-stage Parkinson’s disease is reasonably poor at around 50-70%.

By focusing on detection of key proteins known to be linked to Parkinson's, and very early-stage detection, scientists are hopeful new treatments may found to slow the onset of severe symptoms, or perhaps one day stop them all together.
