Queensland researchers are improving genetic testing for skin cancer

Queensland-based genetic researcher and counsellor, Dr Aideen McInerney-Leo is searching for an array of genes that may increase risk of developing skin cancer, including melanoma. She will lead a series of studies, including trialling a world-first program to train dermatologists to conduct genetic testing. Based in Brisbane's Translational Research Institute, she will also run a study to evaluate the psychosocial impact of genetic testing.
