Faster bone repair - yes, pls

Bone repair speeds up with  direct electrostimulation. But being in a cast + electrodes/wires and a battery for weeks, doesn't sound too appealing.

A professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison has just invented an electrostimulation device that is self-powered, implantable & bioresorbable.

The device hasn't been tested on humans yet, but it has been successful in rats. Sounds promising!

Self-powered implantable device stimulates fast bone healing, then disappears without a trace (wisc.edu)
