Brain Decoder that Turns Brain Signals into Speech

post-image
Brain decoder is a new UCSF-developed tool that can convert brain signals into a computer simulation of the vocal tract. The electrodes are implanted into the brain of volunteers and then decoded signals in cerebral speech centres to guide a computer-simulated version of their vocal tract ? lips, jaw, tongue and larynx ? to generate speech through a synthesiser. https://eandt.theiet.org/content/articles/2019/04/scientists-develop-brain-decoder-that-turns-brain-signals-into-speech/
