Bionic Vision Technologies are developing a bionic eye to restore functional vision similar to a cochlear implant. The implant would be surgically placed on the skull and attached to electrodes at the back of the eye.Images are then translated from cameras, inside a pair of glasses, into electrical signals for the retina to stimulate nerves and deliver visual information to the brain.
