There are 2 million people in the world who require kidney dialysis every week to clean their blood. This is a time-consuming and cumbersome process, without which you die. A team at the University of California, San Francisco, has developed the first implantable artificial kidney, that can be connected to your circulatory system and bladder to clean your blood 24 hours a day.
