A wearable device that will improve stroke patient outcome

Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide. CT scans are used to diagnose stroke, but due to radiation exposure, are only performed every 24 hours. However, within this time period, patients are at risk of experiencing further complications, such as a secondary stroke.

There is currently no way to continuously monitor patients’ brain activity and blood flow, which are key indicators in stroke.

nuroflux is developing a wearable medical device for the continuous monitoring of brain activity and blood flow, enabling treatment monitoring and the detection of secondary complications. The co-founders  Sam van Bohemen and David Almeida Cardoso, PhD  won the IdeaSpies Award at Tech23 for their novel and potentially very useful Tech.
