This month, researchers in Canada released a paper detailing the design of a new type of plastic wrap that repels bacteria which will be particularly useful in hospitals.

Patients can acquire new infections just from being in the hospital. These infections can cause additional mortality and increase healthcare costs. Using surfaces that reduce the spread and growth of bacteria is critical in these environments.
