Billie Whitehouse, co-founder of Wearable Experiments, took the stage in London recently wearing her new Urban Wayfinding Jacket, which lets you navigate through a city without staring down at your phone so you can see more around you. The jacket works by giving you a tap on the shoulder when it's time to change direction. Her company's mission is to bring together fashion and technology with functional design.
Tonight I went to a presentation by The newDemocracy Foundation who are using citizen juries to help councils make better decisions by getting randomly selected members of the local public to debate an issue, similar to how decisions were made when democracy started in Greece. Their latest project is how to tackle obesity health issues!
These cat packs are a clever way to take your cat out. They have portholes for your cat to peek out of, so they can enjoy the view (or just look completely baffled and alarmed, like this cat). They can be used as a back pack or a separate pack and would make a great Christmas gift for a special person with a special cat!?http://u-pet.co/

These Xtreme cooling towels from Realgear.com are a clever idea. You just dunk them in water - preferably cold. Environmentally safe chemical beads then instantly drop the temperature for hours of cooling. Great for beach or gym.
This possibility is a reality at Japan's new completely robot-run Henn-na Hotel (which roughly translates to 'Strange Hotel') in Nagasaki. Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by three "friendly" robots at the front desk. Guests are encouraged to "enjoy conversations with robots with a humanly kind of warmth, while they work efficiently".After checking in, one of two "porter robots" will help transport guests' bags to their room.
