The human connection creates great businesses
Naomi Simson, who launched the Australian online success story RedBalloon, was on the panel at an event to celebrate the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023. She said "When someone is walking into a business and they are energised by its purpose, by the people that are around and if they are learning and growing, they are far more likely to commit. That human connection is what creates great businesses."I was very pleased to be invited to this Alumni event having been a judge in 200s, when the winner was David Bussau AM who founded Opportunity International Australia. Hydrogen from Seawater breakthrough
Natural seawater as an “almost infinite” feedstock for green hydrogen - that's the promise - following just-released research led by scientists at the University of Adelaide. Undertaken with Universities also in China and America, Associate Professor Yao Zheng said “Our work provides a solution to directly utilise seawater without pre-treatment systems and alkali addition, which shows similar performance as that of existing metal-based mature pure water electrolyser.”See article below and also hear Idea Spies Energy Editor Kylie Hargreaves speak about this Tuesday 7th Feb 6pm via Climate & Peace webinar: www.climateandpeace.com.auhttps://www.innovationa

Stop making the same mistakes
In today’s Australian Financial Review (2/2/23) the assistant minister for competition, charities and Treasury, Andrew Leigh called for more evidence to back government programs. Mr Leigh says: “Too many programs start with too little evidence to back them up, and no study of what worked and what did not. That is going to change.”   It would be a delight if the Albanese government embraced the principle and practice behind the assistant minister’s article.   The Evidence-Based Policy Project has over recent years demonstrated the poor policy outcomes delivered by governments not using such an approach.   https://evidencebasedpolicy.org.au/

Choosing to be optimistic can help you live longer!
Thought as we head into the new year I'd start my regular Wellbeing postings with some Optimism!''Optimism is a belief that good things will happen and that things will be ok in the end...''There is so much Scientific proof demonstrating that leaning into optimism in our daily lives not only improves heart health and general wellness, but enables us to live longer and enhanced lives too.'Optimism is a state of mind, not a state of the world'For more detail please read Victor Perton's article below:https://www.centreforoptimism.com/health
