A little vibration reduces a lot of injection pain
The Buzzy is a reusable pain relief device designed to look like a kid-friendly fist-size bee. It uses vibration and a cold pack to block pain from needle procedures, splinter-removal, bee stings and minor burns. The inventor, a pediatric emergency physician, originally tested the idea on her son by using a massager and bag of frozen peas. This product is an imaginative idea because of how it was developed by making connections among and re-purposing non-related elements in a resourcefulness way. https://buzzyhelps.com

Learning geometry is as easy as playing a game
Crafty Cut, from Preloaded, aims to solve the challenges of learning geometry. It presents students with an imaginatively designed game that teaches the conceptual underpinning of geometry by relating flat 2-D representations of various shapes to the 3-D world. To accomplish this, Crafty Cut: (1) does not require a pre-requisite in algebra or even arithmetic, (2) is a game that students enjoy instead of a ?subject,? and (3) has teaching aids that are built into the game. This product is an imaginative idea because the teaching approach leapfrogs flaws in traditional geometry instruction by gamifying the learning experience. http://preloaded.com/games/crafty-cut

Solutions to air pollution in cities
Despite having a clear understanding of traffic pollution and its impact way back in the 1990s, air pollution in many urban areas and cities across the world continues to get worse. Some solutions are: create pedestrian only areas, especially where there are lots of people; implement low emission zones, areas for low, or zero, emission vehicles only; set up areas where diesel vehicles are not allowed -schedule deliveries outside of busy periods; modify diesel vehicles with technologies that improve their emissions; switch bus fleets from diesel to gas, alcohol, hydrogen or electric power; target the worst 10 percent of vehicles (which can cause up to half of all the pollution). On a recent trip to Delhi, for example) I noticed that trucks can't enter the city during the day. http://www.innovationfuturespe
