Whether you use a cookbook, or a copy of an online recipe, this is a clever way to hang it. You just attach it to a skirt hanger which you hang over the handle of a kitchen cupboard. You can also use a hair elastic, if you need to, to adjust the height. We were previously using a cookbook stand on our kitchen bench top and this is a much better idea because it doesn't take up bench space and you can look at the recipe at eye level.
Jordan Nguyen of UTS (University of Technology Sydney, has trialled this wheelchair on people with mid-range quadriplegia, who guided it through a moving obstacle course. He fine-tuned it to the point that people can work out how to use it in 10 minutes. The next challenge is to make it affordable.
Australia led the world in mandating plain packaging for tobacco in 2012. It also requires warnings on packs. The warning on the side of this pack says "The toxic chemicals in tobacco smoke can go everywhere that your blood flows, causing harm all over your body". This year the British Medical Journal published results of separate studies on the impact of plain packaging on the public indicating the laws were producing positive health outcomes.
A new coffee shop called Catmosphere has opened in Surry Hills, Sydney. For $20, cafe customers receive a coffee, a cat-shaped cookie, and access to a rotating roster of felines to pat, scratch and Instagram. The Catmosphere cats are from animal rescue organisations like Inner City Strays. Book ahead as this is a very popular new idea!
