This new book, “The People’s
Constitution”, contains the latest research about the values and aspirations of
Australians and their need to enshrine those values along with their voices and
human rights in a new Australian Constitution if they wish to take a rightful
share of power in their own governance – a share sufficient to help them build
the future of wellbeing and security that they need and deserve. As
Australia walks on to an Indigenous Voice in the Constitution and then walks towards
a decision one way or another about a republic, we will need this new people’s constitution.
National wealth generated through
taxation is not being fairly raised or shared in Australia. This means Australia
will be unable to transition safely and equitably to a new economy, one that is
based on renewable energy and increased delivery of social services, and is fit
for 21st century domestic and globalised markets. Australians no
longer have sufficient welfare safety nets necessary for an efficient and
fair transition to this new sustainable economy. They need a new Accord with parliaments
on Wealth, Welfare and Wellbeing. Find out why and how we can begin safe travel
to a new economy at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVU9Gg408nI&t=29s
The world now has about a decade
left to stop global heating. We are currently on track for temperature increases
above pre-industrial levels of up to 4.5 degrees Celsius. When more than 190
signed the Paris Agreement in 2015, they dearly wanted no more than 2 degrees of
heating, preferably 1.5 degrees. The only way to meet that aim is by
adopting a reasonably safe carbon budget at COP26. All nations must work
together to live within that budget. See why this is vital and how we can set a
reasonably safe carbon budget and save the planet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-exuQBnuFw&t=183s
Australia is among the least
cooperative countries in climate change negotiations. But we can reverse that
and become a leader in global cooperation at the forthcoming COP26 meeting in
Glasgow. The current negotiating framework in use under the Paris Agreement unfortunately
cannot stop global heating. Australia can propose a Motion to replace it with
one that can stop the heating. A new basis for negotiations – one in which countries
work out how to fairly share the remaining safe total tonnage of emissions – is
a game changer. See why and how it can be done. https://www.austcfp.com.au/post/australia-can-lead-the-world-to-fix-climate-change
Have you
ever felt that your children's future is not secure and that you want to leave
a better world for them? Have you ever wondered if democracy could work better
for Australia and Australians? Don’t be despondent. There is a solution. We the
people can all increase our shares of power and influence in our democracy and
make politicians much better leaders. Find out how National IP&R makes it
possible for us to do this for the first time. It's easy, it's free and it's
rewarding. The more Australians that become involved, the more rewarding
it will be. https://www.austcfp.com.au/national-integrated-planning-and-reporting
If we measure democracy
by whether living standards are improving, then it has failed us in the last
decade. Lots of solutions are being proposed. Some are about reform of the
instruments of democracy, such as codes of conduct for politicians. Others are about
increasing participation by we the people in democracy through things like
citizen’s assemblies. They’re all good but they wouldn’t help reverse the
decline in our quality of life. To do that, we need a well thought out long
term plan. Now there is a way to build that together. See how at https://johnmenadue.com/our-democracy-is-broken-but-it-can-be-fixed/
