A French team of engineers has developed an artificial tree that can generate electricity using the wind. The tree uses turbines hidden inside plastic leaves and has the added advantage of being completely silent. This idea started out as a concept and is now being turned into reality by French startup 'New Wind' which is installing the first wind tree at Place de la Concorde in Paris and hoping to expand throughout the country and abroad.

H?vding is the world's first airbag bicycle helmet. It contains accelerometers that detect unusual movements which then deploy the airbag if the movement patterns match the profile of a crash. Each airbag also contains a "black box" that records the accelerometer data 10 seconds before a deployment. This data can be used by the H?vding developers to improve the product. http://www.hovding.com For more tips on bike safety check https://www.foldingbikezone.com/bike-safety-tips/
This cling wrap was bought by an Idea Spy in Austria and carried in ski boots on the way home to Australia. It tears in a straight line easily so is a clever advance on all other cling films that you have to cut.
WasteSharks are smart, solar-powered aqua drones that collect garbage from rivers, canals and harbors. They're designed for use in areas where waste is known to collect and increase their efficiency as they learn about each environment. The machine-learning capability, combined with on-board sensors and cameras, help keep the WasteSharks out of the way of larger crafts. Collected garbage is passed on to recycling and waste-management partners for processing. www.rantech.nl
