On Thursday (14 September), Hill made history, winning 12.9 per cent of the vote and being elected to the Metro Council. These plaster busts were created with the help of four resident women at a homeless shelter on Park Ave. The project by artists John Ahearne and Rigoberto Torres was created about the homeless crisis in NYC using the transformation of art through plaster models made from real persons.The space around the busts is symbolic of the space and shelter that should be given to the homeless as part of the community.
