Victoria has joined all the other Australian states in aiming high on 95% renewables by 2035 and rapidly phasing out coal-fired power. The Government will "replace polluting, privately owned coal with clean government owned renewable energy" with a $1bill commitment to the delivery of 4.5GW worth of renewable energy projects:This follows major announcements from the Qld, NSW and WA states with similar targets. It differs somewhat in the increased government involvement. And this only covers energy and does not yet address emission reduction in the other sectors, especially transport and agriculture - but watch this space:https://www.innovationaus.com/victoria-commits-to-95-renewables-target-by-2035/
Electric mobility - via EV's - is a clear pathway to zero-emissions transportation. In this article, Andreas Lips, president and CEO of Shell Recharge Solutions in North America/Asia–Pacific, describes what infrastructure is required for the expected rapid uptake of EV's.We need clean energy, distributed through the grid. But in
many countries, including Australia, "the grid is not ready for electric-vehicle charging at
scale"."Three concepts need addressing: open standards, interoperability, and energy management". "EV charging will happen where it’s most convenient for the consumer and

e-mobility".https://www.
IdeaSpies Partner The Carbon Almanac Network has created a free photo book depicting global climate change with vivid photos from Getty Images and four custom covers by world-renowned artist Shepard Fairey. We have been asked to spread this visual online book throughout the IdeaSpies Community to help amplify how urgent and necessary it is for each of us to take group climate action.https://thecarbonalmanac.org/photo-book/
