Dr Kakenya Ntaiya has set up a school where parents must agree that their girls will not undergo the tribal ritual of circumcision and will not be married before they finish school. The Kakenya Center for Excellence has already transformed the lives of more than 230 young women in Kenya Africa through education.

Some of the girls have studied in Australia and directors were told about it this week at an Ashurst luncheon- an inspiring story including how Kakenya agreed to have the circumcision ritual so other girls would not have to undergo it.

Heard her on the radio this morning. So powerful and so right. We take is basic right for granted here in Australia and it's a great reminder that everyone of us need to help women like Dr Kakenya Ntaiya and projects like this.
