Traditional places of origin added to addresses

Australia Post are adding an extra layer to your standard envelope. Thanks to Gomeroi woman Rachael McPhail who campaigned to get the First Nations place names within the Australia Post database.

This will allow senders to place the name of the traditional owners on the envelope, creating greater awareness of indigenous peoples and also enhancing the diversity and inclusiveness of the community.

When addressing a parcel or letter you can place the traditional place name after the recipient's name, but before the street address, suburb or town.
