Strip lights on the ground at a pedestrian crossing

post-image
Bodegraven, in the Netherlands, has put strip lights on the ground at a pedestrian crossing ? so people who are staring at their phones will see them, preventing them from wandering into traffic. https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/02/this-dutch-town-has-traffic-lights-on-the-floor-because-people-are-staring-their-phones?

A very clever idea indeed because it provides active assistance to pedestrians in terms of what they actually do: walk and look at their iPhones the same time; instead of expecting them to be more "sensible" and not read while walking.
