Twitter as the Digital Town Square?

Elon Musk has clinched a deal to buy Twitter for $US44 billion (A$61 billion).

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Elon Musk said.

IdeaSpies is contributing to a book about an ideas- informed society, edited by Professor Chris Brown and Professor Graham Handscomb. It will talk about why we need an ideas-informed society and how to make it happen. "Democratic societies thrive when citizens actively and critically engage with new ideas, developments and claims to truth" they said.

Last year was a record year with 1/5 of all living kidney donors came from this program.
