Believable policies for elections

Now election policies should be believable. The Parliamentary Budget Office in Australia is helping to level the playing field in elections. It's modelled on the Congressional Budget Office in the US and allows the Opposition parties to have their policies independently and expertly costed so they are believable. Previously Opposition parties had to have their policies costed by Government departments that answer to the Government of the day or by independent groups that did not have the necessary systems to provide reliable information.

In theory this seems productive. Unfortunately so many political promises are unrealistic, so quantifying their cost is not easy

Paired kidney program leading to more kidney donations in Australia

Australian and New Zealand Paired Kidney Exchange Is going gang busters at increasing the number of kidneys donated / transplant patients into people that need them. Last year was a record year with 1/5 of all living kidney donors came from this program. The program allows friends and family who want to donate a kidney to a loved one but aren't a good medical match, to be paired with others in the same situation.
