Banning plastic bags

Well done to Harris Farm Markets for banning plastic bags in their stores and selling alternatives for you to BYO. If you forget to bring a bag your goods are packed in a quality paper bag.

What do you think?

I like this as a process to spike slow public support though I suspect it needs to happen faster. Ideally and as a potential expression of mass concern (PR and Social), I think all who package products in plastic should pay first into a fund to clean up that massive and growing island made of plastic debris and continue to fund the cleanup until they convert to a green alternative. You might initiate this as a movement in change.org as all it needs is a significant public outcry to concern all manufacturers to act. Good luck,

Good idea Bill for polluters to pay! These are two other ideas on IdeaSpies than soft drink producers have tried to resist but the public is pressuring for! https://www.ideaspies.com/a-tax-on-sugary-drinks-to-improve-health/ https://www.ideaspies.com/a-deposit-return-scheme-that-reduces-littering/. There are also ideas on IdeaSpies that combat smoking. It's a state by state and country by country by country effort.
