An edutech startup that helps teachers talk less and students learn more

Research indicates that students learn more when teachers talk for only 50 percent of the lesson. Melbourne edutech startup Stile is helping teachers talk less and students learn more. Launched in 2014 by Australia's now-chief scientist Alan Finkel, Stile looks to replace textbooks with digital platforms for students to engage with content in a way that makes more sense to a tech-savvy generation. The CSIRO, Australia's leading scientific organization, is encouraging use of Stile, particularly for STEM subjects. www.stile.com.au

Paired kidney program leading to more kidney donations in Australia

Australian and New Zealand Paired Kidney Exchange Is going gang busters at increasing the number of kidneys donated / transplant patients into people that need them. Last year was a record year with 1/5 of all living kidney donors came from this program. The program allows friends and family who want to donate a kidney to a loved one but aren't a good medical match, to be paired with others in the same situation.
