How clever that the LEGO store on 23rd St. in Manhattan mimics iconic New York City sights by building them with LEGOs and displaying in their windows. This week features the Statue of Liberty. And, ironically the store is just across 5th Ave. from Madison Square Park where the statue's upheld torch was stored until 1882 awaiting for additional funding and the remainder of the statue to arrive from France. What a clever idea for the organizers of the Mattituck, NY, Annual Strawberry Festival to make the rain sheds in the shape of a strawberry. And this year it did rain, but that didn't stop the crowds from enjoying the fabulous strawberry shortcake, strawberry daiquiris, and even the strawberry pickles.
In Santiago de Cuba umbrellas are a fashion accessory used in the sun and the rain. Their clever idea is to support Cuban artists including this artist, Victor Manuel, as well as the Cuban art gallery Museo Bellas Artes.
