Asylum seekers offer you cooking classes and a home cooked meal
Free to Feed is a social enterprise that runs cooking classes in Melbourne taught exclusively by asylum seekers and refugees. You can attend their "pop up" locations for these classes and also arrange them at your home. After the cooking lesson you can enjoy the meal. The aim is to create a cultural exchange between asylum seekers and the general public through conversation, learning and food that can lead to a better life in Australia including employment opportunities. https://www.thefundingnetwork.com.au/events/upcoming-events-list/sydney-9-nov-2016/ Photo Graham Denholm

Global currency as a gift card
Banks currently offer debit cards as global currency for use overseas. Idea Spy Lisa Osborn in Sydney has suggested a product extension to turn these cards into personalised gift cards. For example you could take a photo of your child?s recent masterpiece worthy of a place on the fridge, have it embedded onto a Visa or Mastercard gift card, and send it to grandparents abroad. Or have a photo of you, your family and pets embedded onto the card and send it to family and friends overseas. The technology already exists for this product. Why isn?t it being offered? It?s a clever way to send gifts overseas. If there?s a problem in mailing the cards maybe they could be offered digitally. If you?re interested in progressing this idea contact Lisa through IdeaSpies.
