Connecting and sharing
We are experiencing unprecedented waste as we consume more and use less. Spare Harvest brings local communities together to share, swap or sell what they have spare in their kitchens, gardens and farms. Spare Harvest uses technology to take us back to a time when we shared our resources, bought less and connected more. Produce, plants, tools, time, land and jams are some of the items exchanged. As they say, your trash is someone else's treasure. There will be someone in your community who will use it; you just have to let them know it is available. www.spareharvest.com

Unmanned convenience stores
The future of unmanned convenience stores is being expanded in China. Alibaba recently invested into a start-up called F5 Future Store. F5 already operate a store in Guangzhou and are opening about 30 to 50 more stores this year. Customers use their smartphones to open the door to the store and then robotic arms serve them the items that they purchase via their phone. If customers eat-in, the dining table is self-cleaning which is achieved with another robotic arm. https://alltechasia.com/will-unmanned-convenience-stores-like-f5-future-store-trending-future/ Unmanned stores have also opened in Sweden.

A 3D zebra crossing that slows down cars
Zebra crossings are meant to slow drivers down and make them aware of pedestrians crossing the street. But, far too often, drivers and bikers will zoom through them. To combat the issue, one town in Iceland is now using 3-D crosswalks to make them stand out to drivers and slow down speeding cars.?They look like a roadblock from a distance, and it?s only when you slow down that you see it?s only a zebra crossing. https://www.simplemost.com/iceland-3d-crosswalk-slow-down-drivers/

A bike that can glide across water
Manta5, a New Zealand-based company, is offering a new bike designed to glide across any body of water, including lakes, rivers, and the ocean. It?s pedal-electric and has a 400w motor to amplify pedaling. A clever feature is its ability to perform submerged launches, so you don't have to worry if you fall off the bike in the middle of the ocean. You can now register for pre-sales. https://manta5.com
