Anika Legal's 'Giving Day' - Giving Back to Vulnerable Victorians
Anika Legal is a free online legal service that helps vulnerable Victorians access free legal support when they need it most. Right now, the after effects of continuous lockdowns and widespread job losses has created a huge problem of homelessness and rental unaffordability in Victoria.  In response, Anika is hosting a 'Giving Day’ on the 25th November, where every dollar donated over the 24 hour period will be 'matched' by their generous donor-partners.  Partnering with  ‘Charidy’, Anika hope to raise an additional $150k to help them address more areas of legal need. Celebrating Aussie Legal Tech Success!
Two incredible success stories to share in Aussie Legaltech.  Smokeball, a Sydney cloud-based practice management software company, has raised $30 million in its first capital round.  CEO Hunter Steele grew up watching his father run a country legal practice and understands firsthand the need for law firms to provide efficient, effective, automated legal services.  In addition to the capital raise, Smokeball acquired another Aussie legaltech startup, Family Property.  Tim and Fiona Kirkman created Family Property to help ease the administrative tasks in family law property settlements, and have now joined the Smokeball family.  To learn more head to https://www.startupdaily.net/2021/10/lawtech-firm-smoke
