To Build More-Inclusive Technology, Change Your Design Process

post-image

When designing your technology it can be tricky to circumvent inherent bias, the products tend to reflect the people that invented it after all. Their background and experience reflecting the user experience and how the product is ultimately designed. Unintentionally the designer’s choices limits and exclude people with different physical and cognitive abilities. While some measures have been taken by organisations, regulators and experts to make technology accessible to everyone, more can be done. But fear not, the solution to this issue lies within your grasp, with designers such as Antionette Carroll proposing the redesign of the design process itself
