The "O" device at MONA

post-image
MONA is the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart Tasmania and it changed the way visitors view artworks with the "O" device. You receive this device for free when you enter and can use it to fix your location in the museum as well as to produce a proximity ordered list of nearby artworks and give you a multimedia experience of each artwork. Your journey through the museum can even be tracked so you can access a record of it online afterwards. MONA also offers holiday says through their website www.mona.net.au MONA staff get a daily report on the number of visitors that day, how many works were viewed, the most visited works, dwell times, and the most loved and hated pieces that day. http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/444906/why_mona_went_mobile_technology_behind_hobart_museum_old_new_art/?pp=2
