The Hand Medal Project was initiated by artists Iris Eichenberg and Jimena Rios in recognition of health workers dealing with the victims of the pandemic. Currently over 1500 makers around the world are making small schematic hands.

Sydney artist Helen Wyatt is one of many Australians involved. Her handmade medals will be forwarded to Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Handkeeper) in Brisbane with support from Kevin Murray -Garland on-line magazine for contemporary Crafts in Asia and the Pacific.

The medals will then be bestowed upon medical workers the second Sunday in November.’ Art Jewelery Forum May 2020. https://garlandmag.com/loop/hand-medal-project-taking-care-of-caregivers/
