Most Americans  would love an alternative to their pumpkins sitting on the ground and rotting after Halloween.

Hurling pumpkins is an evolving pastime throughout the USA creating a challenging and innovative sport for all ages.

Pumpkin chucking utilizes mechanical intervention for distance. Devices include sling shots, catapults, centrifugals, trebuchets, and pneumatic (air) cannons.

The pumpkins are organic and environmentally friendly after they succumb to gravity.

"Punkin Chunkin" competitions, formal and informal, are held in the United States in the fall and  in early November .

Delaware typically hosts the world championships.
