Of the 3.3 million Australians who own cryptocurrency, women account for 11% as of June 2021, a significant jump up from 7% in January 2021, according to research published by Finder.
In terms of demographics, close to a third of Gen-Z own crypto (31%), a figure that has more than doubled since January (15%) and, by comparison, the number of Gen-Y millennials who own cryptocurrency has dropped from 33% to 24% over the same period.
This is relevant as a leading indicator of the likely propensity of young Australians to adopt DeFi "Super Apps" like Tiiiik or Baxe.
