Meeting the Acid Test

post-image

Currently, each year the ocean absorbs approximately 25% of all the CO2 emitted by human activities.

Ocean acidity has increased by about 30% since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

The current rate of change of ocean acidification is faster than any time on record (10 times faster than the last major acidification event 55 million years ago).

Reducing your carbon footprint is the best way you can help reverse ocean acidification. Drive less, ride your bike and walk more. Eat locally grown foods and compost your waste. Turn off the lights, TV, computers, and chargers when not in use.
