Judo for People with Disabilities Can Help With Social and Motor Skills

post-image

A new judo studio aimed at people with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities has opened in Hobart, Tasmania in Australia and will host its first beginner classes in March.

Judo instructor Carla Johnson, who also works in disability services, told the ABC that judo can help with "regulation and being calm", as well as instilling discipline and respect.

The training is tailored to help people develop social and motor skills, with classes kept small to ensure the instructors can cater to everyone's unique needs.
