Island Goes Autism-Friendly to Boost Local Tourism

post-image
The island of Tory in Ireland is going autism friendly thanks to autism awareness training for businesses.

Shops will display stickers in their windows to show staff are undergoing autism training. They are also encouraged to offer sensory boxes with sensory toys to help with over-stimulation in autistic kids.

The ferry ride to the island from the mainland will have visual aids to show autistic kids what the boat will look like and who will drive the ferry.

That would be great no matter for autistic kids or their parents to enjoy one lovely island journey  :)
