Free portable wifi

We checked in to our room at the Astoria Hotel Vienna today to find this gadget near our bed. It offers free portable wifi. You take it out of the backing case and it gives you wifi for 20 hours courtesy of the hotel. With offers like this there's no need to buy SIM cards when you travel or pay extra for global roaming!

that's fantastic. Together with a VPN, it makes international travel that much simpler & hyperconnected!

Magnetic Attraction: Microplastics

A Kyushu University study (2021) estimated there were 24.4 trillion pieces of microplastics in the world's upper oceans or roughly 30 billion 500-ml plastic water bottles. Microplastics are tiny, toxic and very hard to remove from the environment. But researchers in the US have discovered that some Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) can attract and bind microplastics, making it easier to remove them from the environment.
