For Darwin Day Feb 12, Play is an evolutionary advantage for solving world problems

It is known that creative problem-solving is an evolutionary trait, our ancestors needed for survival. New research shows how play complements that: Expanding the range of solutions available & experiencing with new methods. As true as it is for animals and children, it is for adults. Learn more about the idea of play as a survival mechanism, celebrating Darwin Day, Feb 12, 2024. Survival is about who is more creative and caring. Unfortunately, play is natural in kindergarten. In schools children are told: Learning is serious. We need play to raise today's Gen Z students toward solving world problems.

Thanks Michelle for letting us know about Darwin Day - a celebration to commemorate the birthday of Charles Darwin on 12 February 1809. The day is used to highlight Darwin's contributions to science and to promote science in general. Darwin Day is celebrated around the world.
