Einride to launch industrial pilot of driverless electric pods with Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola European Partners has announced it will use Einride’s autonomous, electric transport system to expand in its Swedish distribution network. A commercial pilot will be launched at its facility outside Stockholm.

The partnership will run over the next few years and will explore opportunities to improve sustainability and efficiency in the transport system.

Road freight transport is responsible for around 7% of global CO2-emissions and has only gone through incremental changes in the last few decades.

Magnetic Attraction: Microplastics

A Kyushu University study (2021) estimated there were 24.4 trillion pieces of microplastics in the world's upper oceans or roughly 30 billion 500-ml plastic water bottles. Microplastics are tiny, toxic and very hard to remove from the environment. But researchers in the US have discovered that some Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) can attract and bind microplastics, making it easier to remove them from the environment.
